The aronia berry is grown primarily in Poland. Its tanic flavor is not good for straight eating but it is delicious in pies and preserves. The berry is very high in antioxidants, higher even than the blueberry. The juice we use is from my sister Teresa’s farm.
It is high in vitamins B1, B2 and A. It also is softens the skin.
Castor oil is very moisturizing as well as being a humectant. This means it helps to seal moisture inside the skin, preventing the rapid drying and cracking of your skin.
Chamomile, as most of us know, is a soothing, refreshing herb. It is also beneficial to the skin in that it helps prevent harmful demoisturizing.
We use whipping cream in several of our soaps, blended with the goat milk. It creates a remarkably rich and creamy lather as well as being very moisturizing.
Both cucumber and melon have skin tightening and revitalizing properties. In the soap they also give a light texture.
Coffee is a relatively well known beauty treatment. It is thought to bring color to the skin. In our soaps it makes for a energizing and revitalizing ingredient.
Honey, like castor oil, is a humectant. It moisturizes and is especially good for senstive skin. It also lends the soap an uniquely sweet smell.
Lavender has a soothing, relaxing fragrance. It has been used for generations as a destressing aromatherapy treatment for animals and humans alike.
Lemon balm has a cleansing, energizing fragrance. Our lemon balm is from my sister Tesea’s herb garden and is 100% organic.
This herb is also from Teresa’s garden. It has a refreshing, summery scent.
Lemongrass, like lemon balm, has a cleansing fragrance. It also has been known to improve circulation.
This adds a gentle, exfoliating texture to the soap. It also helps protect the skin.
Pumpkin is choc full of vitamins and minerals, many of which are beneficial to the skin. It includes vitamins A, C, and E as well as, potassium, beta and alpha-carotenes, and zinc. It is also moisturizing and soothing to the skin.
Rosehip oil has viatmin C which helps prevent skin damage and is an antioxidant. It also can reduce scarring.
Safflower oil is moisturizing as well as softening to the skin.
One of our favorite solid oils, shea butter includes vitamins A and E. It rejuvenates and protects the skin. It also effectively softens dry and damaged skin.
Shea oilein (or oil) also includes vitamins A and E. It promotes elasticity and tone in your skin.
Sunflower oil in high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It also gives the soap a very nice lather.
Almond oil contains oleic and linoleic fatty acids. It also has moisture retentive properties.
